Asante Samuel warns Lamar Jackson about Belichick, Patriots

since tom brady left new England, It seems that a legend like Bill Belichick has lost its luster. Suddenly, “Hoodie” is pouring in from all directions, including former players. Asante Samuel posted a warning to Lamar Jackson on Twitter about playing for Belichick.

Say what you will, but Samuel played five years for Belichick and shouldn’t know that system as well as anyone named Tom Brady. This is not Samuel’s first time speaking out against Belichick and the “Patriot Way”. Samuel went on the “I Am Athlete” podcast last year and blasted Belichick over Patriot ways in New England and a contract dispute.

“Some of them are brainwashed by that Patriot Way. I’m not going for any of these. I don’t know what a No Patriot Way is.” Samuel said,

Samuel expressed, “I’m here to get money, to take care of my family, the same way Belichick is here to take care of his family.” “So when you try to get my money back, and you want all your money, I have no respect for you.”

It should be noted that Samuel was drafted by Belichick in 2003, played five years on a rookie deal, then was franchised for one year before leaving for greener pastures with the Philadelphia Eagles. So, it’s absolutely personal with Samuel where Belichick is concerned. So, Jackson should probably take his tweet with a grain of salt and consider the source. This does not mean that Samuel has the right to have his own opinion. It only means that Lamar can take it as he sees fit.

If we’re going to be objective, Belichick’s defense is usually pretty good. They handle their business which is expected of them. Belichick may be the greatest head coach in NFL history. And even if you disagree, you can’t detract from crowning him the best defensive coach/game planner this league has ever had.

Belichick is not in this game for love. His goal is to win, and he has done so at a higher clip than any other NFL head coach. In fact we know that’s not going to happen. There is no way that Belichick would commit to paying a player what Jackson is reportedly expecting. It doesn’t matter how close to Meek Mill Patriot Owner Robert Kraft. Brady never had a major deal with the Pats. So, expecting another QB to come in and get over $200 million guaranteed is absurd. It’s a great idea and would make New England a true contender again, but it’s not happening.
