The search for Campbell began Sunday night after police and firefighters responded to a 911 call at 7:46 p.m. ET that reported “a male paddleboarder who entered the water appeared to briefly struggle to stay on the surface and then plunged into the water and failed to re-surface.”
According to a press release, Massachusetts Environmental Police officers recovered Campbell’s body shortly before 10 a.m. ET on Monday. Using side-scan sonar from a boat, the department found the dead chef “about 100 feet from shore at a depth of approximately eight feet.”
