Colts Unveil New ‘Indiana Nights’ Alternate Uniforms, Black Helmets

The Indianapolis Colts are the latest NFL team to release new alternate uniforms for the 2023 season.

The Colts unveiled their “Indiana Knights” uniforms on Thursday. Colts players will wear full blue jerseys and pants with white stripes on the outside of the legs and shoulders. The uniforms feature heathered fabric, making them the first of their kind in NFL history.

In addition, for the first time in team history, the Colts would wear black helmets matching the uniforms. The blue Colts logo resides in the center of the helmet. Instead of the traditional “C” captain’s crest, the captain’s crest on the Colts’ new alternate jersey would be similar to the “C” on the Colts’ crest with an outline of the state of Indiana in the center.

The decline in the Colts’ uniforms is the third day in a row that an NFL team has released new alternate uniforms after cleveland browns on tuesday and Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday. Several teams have begun unveiling new alternate uniforms in recent years as the NFL loosened rules on which helmets players can and cannot wear ahead of the 2022 season.

However, the “Indiana Knights” uniforms have one of the lowest approval ratings among NFL fans on social media. The official Reddit account for college football on Twitter The jersey has been called “the most common uniform in NFL history”.A Twitter account called “NFL Fashion Advice”, dedicated to discussing team uniforms, also questioned the “Indiana Knights” uniforms.

The account reads, “The Colts option features a black helmet and a “marbled” blue unitard.” “I’m a big fan of the Colts primaries, but I basically don’t understand it. Who asked for this?

However, there was one thing the account liked about the new threads.

The account read, “Although I’m not a fan of the new uniforms, I will say this: If I were forced to rank every black helmet in the league, this Colts would be on top.”

The Colts would wear the uniforms for the first time in their Week 6 game against the Browns. Coincidentally, this comes a week before the Seahawks will wear their new ’90s-inspired alternative in a game against the Browns.

Indianapolis plans to continue wearing “Indiana Knights” uniforms in future seasons.
