Conor Gallagher: West Ham make £40m bid for Chelsea and England midfielder | Transfer Centre News

West Ham have made a £40m bid for Chelsea and England midfielder Connor Gallagher.

Gallagher has two years left on his contract and Chelsea are believed to be open to an extension.

Any potential departure would probably have to be orchestrated by Gallagher himself.

The England midfielder is on Chelsea’s tour of the USA and scored in Sunday’s win over Brighton. As it is, boss Mauricio Pochettino plans to have him as part of the squad next season.

West Ham among clubs monitoring Maguire situation

Harry Maguire is being closely monitored by clubs in the Premier League and abroad, with West Ham being among the England internationals interested.

The Hammers are believed to be exploring the option of either a loan or a permanent deal for the 30-year-old defender, who was recently told to no longer captain Man Utd and could be considering a move elsewhere.

However, he is aware that wages could prove to be a problem if a deal is agreed between the clubs.

Kaveh Solhekol explains that Harry Maguire will have plenty of transfer options if he chooses to leave Manchester United after the defender lost the captain’s armband.

United manager Erik ten Haag has always said any decision would effectively depend on the player, who is under contract with the club until the summer of 2025.
