amsterdam -DPA Microphones has announced that it will be showcasing its new DLS4000 Location Sound Kit at IBC 2023 (Hall 8, Booth F87).
Featuring a range of the brand’s acclaimed condenser microphones as well as over 20 accessories, this kit is built to provide the most critical solutions required for any TV/movie recording application, the company explained.
In addition, each microphone has been selected based on input from professional audio engineers working in the film and broadcast industries to provide as comprehensive a solution as possible. The company pointed out that designed with durability and versatility as top requirements, the DLS4000 Location Sound Kit plays an important role for sound professionals.
The kit includes two DPA 4097 CORE Micro Shotguns and one 4098 CORE Supercardioid microphone. Lightweight, easy-to-use and extremely multifunctional, the 4097 fulfills a variety of roles for broadcast professionals, including discreet microphone placement, interviews and voiceover work, and its water-resistant housing handles inclement weather with ease. With a variety of mounting options, the 4098 gooseneck is perfect for live interview applications, such as on stage or in other conference situations. With very low noise and high sensitivity, the 4098 delivers transparent, natural sound and high speech intelligibility regardless of the environment. According to DPA, both microphones also feature highly directional pick-up patterns that limit intrusive background noise.
For boom micing applications, the kit includes a pair of both the 4017B shotgun and the 4018C compact supercardioid microphone. The 4017 produces impressive accuracy and clarity not only for explosive broadcasts and ENG, but also when used with camera systems and at fixed locations in sports facilities or studio environments. Designed for a wide variety of long-range microphone applications for both film and ENG, the 4018 features a highly directional pick-up pattern with a smooth and uniform off-axis frequency response. Due to the variety of accessories available, both solutions offer excellent flexibility to meet any requirement.
The DLS4000 also includes a selection of solutions from DPA’s 4060 series of miniature omnidirectional microphones, including each of the 4060, 4061 and 4071 core omnidirectional microphones as well as a 4661 core heavy duty omnidirectional microphone for the toughest environments with high intensity sound is included. The company explained that by tuning each microphone for a specific application, a professional sound engineer receives a customized and unobtrusive solution for any sensitivity, voltage or placement requirement.
Also included is a range of lavaliers for close micing talent, including four 6061 core omnidirectional subminiature microphones (two each in beige and black) and two white 6060 core omnidirectional subminiature microphones. At just 3mm in size, these microphones pack award-winning DPA audio into a discreet housing that blends into any environment. Each microphone provides the clarity, stability, and durability needed for any broadcast application, and comes with a variety of accessories to allow unobtrusive placement on speakers or appropriately as factory microphones.
In addition to microphones, the DLS4000 Location Sound Kit includes nearly two dozen accessories, including additional cables, microphone holders, concealers, adapters, clips, and more. According to the company, this ensures that any sound professional is ready to go immediately.
