NOVI, MI.—ENCO has acquired French subtitling company DoCaption, a developer and manufacturer of subtitle, closed captioning and supplemental data solutions for the broadcast and AV industries. This announcement is ENCO’s third corporate acquisition in the last 12 months, following the acquisitions of TranslateTV last July and Rushworks in January. ENCO closed the DoCaption deal on July 1, with ENCO retaining DoCaption’s entire product line, intellectual property, personnel and operations in Valence, France.

ENCO says the acquisition will expand its access to captioning workflows for broadcast and AV applications to provide more complete, integrated and cost-effective solutions for broadcasters and media companies, such as OTT channels, MVPD and streaming services. Similarly, ENCO can provide a more complete solution for subtitled meetings, lectures and presentations in live AV environments, the company said. , ENCO has a long-standing partnership with DoCaption to provide live, automated closed captioning and to incorporate closed captioning into live broadcasts.
