Kawhi Leonard and Paul George both sat out the Los Angeles Clippers’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.

But that didn’t stop the Clippers from putting on a great performance and getting a big 141-132 victory.

A big part of that important win was Russell Westbrook, who had 36 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists while going 5-of-5 from beyond the three-point line.

Westbrook was again a starter and showed he could still be a big part of the team’s success.

The internet took note of their huge night.

There was a lot of praise for Westbrook on Twitter, much of it commenting on how much better he looks in comparison to his troubled stint with the Los Angeles Lakers.

A lot of people took shots at the Lakers fan base.

One user said, “Get rid of that toxic fan base and start cooking.”

Although Lakers fans were rarely very happy with Westbrook, some came out to support their former player after strong performances.

“From a Laker fan, nice to see him doing well,” said one Lakers follower.

Multiple Clippers fans said that thanks to the hard work of Westbrook, Robert Covington, Bones Hyland and others, the team could become the fourth seed in the West.

Covington scored 27 points in the game, while Hyland was solid with his 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists.

Countless people are wondering what Westbrook’s mentality will be like playing with the Clippers.

One user said that “looks like he’s back in OKC with no expectations.”

Westbrook hasn’t completely overcome his inconsistency issues, but he has shown Clippers fans plenty of greatness.

The fact that he was able to lead his team to victory without both Leonard and George was a huge, impressive feat and statement.
