Aaron Jeffery (13-3) produced two of his best performances under the Bellator MMA banner when he finished both Fabio Aguiar and former middleweight title challenger Austin Vanderford. Since his second loss at Contender Series to Dana White, he has been on a mission to prove to everyone that he is one of the best middleweights around. Now he has to prove it against another former title challenger in John Salter.

John Salter (18-6) is a tough fighter who fought hard to earn his title shot against then-middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi. He has also been a longtime staple of the Bellator MMA roster since 2015. His last three losses have come against the current and former middleweight champion. Even though Salter may be an underdog, he always had an opportunity to cause trouble.

why john salter could win

Jon Salter has dominated Bellator MMA’s middleweight division for quite some time now. He has a tough fighting style that is hard for any fighter to gameplan against. Salter’s grappling is some of the best in the middleweight division and would match someone of Aaron Jeffery’s caliber.

Salter will look to take this fight to the mat and grind against the fence to keep Jeffery away from him. This will give him the best chance to get back to his winning ways.

why aaron jeffrey could win

Aaron Jeffery has been on an absolute tear winning seven of his last eight bouts. His only two losses have come against two of the UFC’s top middleweight prospects, Caio Boralho and Brendan Allen. He has shown in his most recent fight against Austin Vanderford that he can compete with the best that Bellator MMA has to offer.

His takedown defense has been spot on since his last two losses, where that was his sudden drop. Jeffery has certainly moved on in those respects and as long as he’s able to keep this fight straight, it’s a fight he’s losing. He is undoubtedly the better striker of the two and has the ability to take battles on his feet.

Final John Salter-Aaron Jeffery Predictions and Selections

This fight should be very similar to the Austin Vanderford fight. This fight may not end that quickly, but Jeffery should have a huge advantage on the feet and win this fight with the hands if Salter somehow can’t get this fight to the mat. In the end, Jeffery stretched and brawled Salter before the final bell and put his name in the mix for a possible title shot in the future.
