Julia Fox’s see-through boots are lined with unwrapped condoms

It was sunny in Los Angeles on May 11, and Julia Fox Er, be sure to add an extra layer of protection against the heat. On the spring tour, Fox debuted a dress covered from head to toe with an open condom. On her hands, she continued the latex theme with an unnerving pair of gloves that matched her skin color almost exactly. The full ensemble consisted of a sheer top, white miniskirt, vinyl boots and a clear, condom-studded handbag that Fox first debuted in February.

While the entire outfit was sure to turn heads on the streets of LA, Fox’s shoes were the star of the show. The shoes included black peplum heels with a clear strap. On each foot, high heels were fitted with flared, vinyl covered, boots reminiscent of wellies. The knee-high covers were stitched in a grid-like pattern, with a single condom square in the center of each section. Other celebrities who have sported the controversial shoe trend in recent months include Rita Ora in flip flops, Jennifer Lopez in sheer platform shoes, and Tracee Ellis Ross in a risky pair of asymmetrical heels.

The day before, on May 10, Fox appeared in an equally unique corset and miniskirt made entirely from recycled waste. For that look, the artist, Anna Molinari, created it using subway maps, receipts, plastic shopping bags, candy wrappers, and even soda cans. According to Molinari, the skirt alone helped her complete “all three of ‘Magic Mike’ and a season of ‘Bello Deck.'” Fox accented the look with a black leather shrug jacket, sunglasses, and silver ring. Styled the outfit with knee-high boots.

Fox’s condom-inspired outfit isn’t as unprecedented as you might think. In February, Diesel unveiled a mountain of 200,000 condoms at Milan Fashion Week. The playful fashion moment garnered mixed reactions from fans, but Fox seems to be on hand to put the spotlight on contraceptives.
