Kate Gosselin breaks the silence: my son is restless and violent and needs help!

Kate Gosselin finally tells her side of the story.

For the past few days, celebrity gossip fans have been reading excerpts from an interview given to VICE TV by two of Kate’s children for the ongoing documentary Dark Side of the 2000s.

At one point during their sit-down, 19-year-old Collin Gosselin goes back in time and discusses how his mother sent him to a mental health facility in 2016.

He said that Kate disrespected him and essentially shut him down to keep him quiet about the incident.

Similarly, Hannah Gosselin said that Kate kept Collin away from his other seven siblings when he was a young child.

(As you probably know, the family rose to fame on the TLC reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8… only because the title couple broke up in 2009 and Jon spent much of the next decade wrecking his ex-girlfriend.)

These are some very disturbing allegations.

Kate, who years ago cited only “special needs” to keep Colin in institutional care, now bids against him.

I never wanted to do this, but I feel I have been singled out and have no choice. Though it hurts me to do so, I must speak nowKate said in a lengthy statement on Instagram.

My son Colin, whom I love with all my heart, has received several psychiatric diagnoses over the years.

For the safety of Mary, her siblings, and her own well-being, after years of outpatient treatment, she was placed in a facility that proved inadequate for her needs.

The decision to admit him was made by emergency room doctors after one of his many seizures/explosions – when he used a weapon.

Jon Gosselin rescued Colleen from the facility in 2017 and later took her into temporary custody.

In September 2020, John was accused of child abuse.

He defended himself against the allegation by saying at the time that Collin was going through an episode of hysteria and was simply trying to stop the young man.

Kate Gosselin continued her statement:

Fast forward to the present, and after John took Collin out of treatment, my son’s unpredictable and violent behavior toward John, Hannah, and others around him has sadly continued on a regular basis.

Collin’s distorted perception of reality is just one of the many problems he has always struggled with.

As many with family members struggling with mental health issues can attest to, it is rare and sadly surprising when completely fabricated things happen, and this is another heartbreaking aspect of this struggle.

All parent-child relationships are complex, but when it involves mental illness, it is incredibly complex and painful, far from being easily understood by others from the outside.

Kate has no real relationship with either Colin or Hannah, both of whom live with their fathers.

At the same time, John recently said that he has not spoken to his remaining six children for many years.

This is all very, very, very sad.

Maddie Gosselin released a message this week in which she labeled Collin “violent” and said her brother has made threats against several of their relatives in the past.

All measures taken in our home were on the express recommendation of his child psychiatrist and/or his team of specialists and were taken for the safety of each and every member of our family, our friends and our pets.Kate concluded.

Unfortunately, I believe that Colin is a very troubled young man who still needs a lot of help.

His siblings and I are not directly involved in his life because of his unpredictable behavior and history of being violent towards us.

SWhat her sister Maddie recently posted on social media is absolutely accurate and I really applaud her courage for doing this.

That is all I have to say on the matter and I will not discuss the subject any further at this time.

In response to this statement, John has now issued a statement of his own.

It read, “In relation to these brand new false allegations, it seems clear that even today, after not seeing her son since sixth grade, Kate can’t hold back her abusive words toward him.”

“Recall that in 2018 a judge awarded temporary sole legal and physical custody of Collin to her father. Kate also did not appear in court and never spoke to Colin again.

“Right now, Collin is training to be a Marine to serve his country and cannot answer his mother’s lies.”
