NFL Schedule Predictions For Every Game In 2023

The Atlanta Falcons are entering their third year under head coach Arthur Smith and are looking to make significant progress in their rebuild in 2023. Trick’s Jumping. It helps that the falcon has The easiest power of schedule His opponents have a .417 winning percentage.

With the schedules for all 32 NFL teams now officially released, let’s take a look and make game-by-game predictions on each matchup.

Week 1 – Sun 9/10 – 1:00 PM EDT – Mercedes-Benz Stadium
carolina panthers

As for the Falcons, they are probably hoping for a better result for their home opener in 2023 than last season, when they lost to the New Orleans Saints by one and blew another fourth quarter lead.

The Panthers don’t have much to expect going into 2023, but there is hope for the future with their No. 4. 1 pick in Bryce Young. But then again, that’s the future. The Falcons are currently the better team here.

Record: 1-0

Week 2 – Sun 9/17 – 1:00 PM EDT – Mercedes-Benz Stadium
green Bay Packers

There’s a reason the Falcons have the easiest schedule in the league – it’s because they face a lot of teams in the midst of rebuilding. The Green Bay Packers may not be a complete rebuild, but they do have a lot of question marks offensively.

The Falcons may still not have much of a rush, but that doesn’t mean they can’t make up for it against a Packers defense that fared poorly last season. This would feel like a signature win because this is the Packers.

Record: 2-0

Week 3 – 9/24 – 1:00 PM EDT – Ford Field
at the detroit lions

The Detroit Lions are looking to make a name for themselves this season. Head coach Dan Campbell, with his old-school approach, is looking to take over the NFC North, which looks a bit more promising now that Aaron Rodgers is gone.

Falcons are made in the same way as lions. Both love to run the ball and have a fine stable of running backs. So who has the edge? Lions at Home seems like the perfect game here.

Record: 2-1

Week 4 – 10/1 – 9:30 AM EDT – Wembley Stadium
at the Jacksonville Jaguars (international game)

This will be the third time the Dirty Birds have played in London. The last time the Falcons played across the pond, they beat the Jets 27–20. However, no team has any home advantage here.

The Jaguars are looking to play out their 2022 campaign where they made it to the AFC Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs before losing. Another year of Trevor Lawrence and head coach Doug Pederson sounds like a bad combo for the Falcons.

Record: 2-2

Week 5 – 10/8 – 1:00 PM EDT – Mercedes-Benz Stadium
houston texans

Then again, the Falcons have a cake schedule. The only problem is, they still haven’t proven to be that great. However, this should be a favorable matchup for Atlanta in almost every aspect as they will have a clear advantage in almost every position.

Record: 3-2

Week 6 – 10/15 – 1:00 PM EDT – Mercedes-Benz Stadium
washington commanders

The Falcons lost to the Commanders in Week 12 of last season as the offense sputtered, scoring only 13. Heinicke, who was the Commanders’ quarterback that day, now plays for the Falcons. Depending on how Ridder performs, Heinicke could start for the Falcons by then. The Falcons win at home regardless.

Record: 4-2

Week 7 – 10/22 – 1:00 PM EDT – Raymond James Stadium
at the tampa bay buccaneers

Well, the Falcons no longer have to worry about Tom Brady, against whom they had an 11-1 record. Now, like most of the Falcons’ opponents, there is no certainty on who will start at quarterback for the Buccaneers. The Falcons may be on a bit of a winning streak.

Record: 5-2

Week 8 – 10/29 – 1:00 PM EDT – Nissan Stadium
at tennessee titans

Hey guess what? The Falcons are playing a team in the midst of rebuilding.

The Tennessee Titans will still have Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill on offense. But if it gets bad enough, Lewis might get a head start, and as long as the Titans are riding high on him, Henry is bound to fall eventually. However, the Titans finished with the No. 1 spot. 2 ranked run defense last season. Led by Smith, the Falcons love to run the ball, but they may not be able to do so on Halloween weekend. The Titans bother.

Record: 5-3

Week 9 – 11/05 – 1:00 PM EDT – Mercedes-Benz Stadium
minnesota vikings

This is the toughest matchup the Falcons face on their schedule outside of the Saints and Jets. Even at home, and perhaps battered physically and mentally (still no bye week) from the loss to the Titans the week before, it doesn’t go in the Falcons’ favor.

Record: 5-4

Week 10 – 11/12 – 4:05 PM EDT – State Farm Stadium
at arizona cardinals

The Cardinals have a new coaching staff this season after giving the boot to Kliff Kingsbury. These teams don’t seem too far apart, but it will be interesting to play quarterback in this game. Will Kyler Murray stay healthy? Will Desmond Ridder be serviceable or benched? The falcon gets a slight edge by running on his back.

Record: 6-4

Week 11 – Goodbye (Mercifully)

Week 12 – 11/26 – 1:00 PM EDT – Mercedes-Benz Stadium
new orleans saints

It’s strange that the Falcons don’t play their archers until week 12, bye. But even in the 11th week, the saints get a bye. If the Saints are healthy and Carr is producing, it looks like the Saints have an easy win.

Record: 6-5

Week 13 – 12/03 – 1:00 PM EDT – MetLife Stadium
in new york jets

The New York Jets could be dangerous with Aaron Rodgers if things go their way. The Jets can secure their playoff position as early as December. The Jets win and put the Falcons in a familiar spot: .500.

Record: 6-6

Week 14 – 12/10 – 1:00 PM EDT – Mercedes-Benz Stadium
tampa bay buccaneers

The Falcons will be looking for their first win since Week 10. The Buccaneers look like a good team to do so, which most will look towards the 2024 draft until then.

Record: 7-6

Week 15 – TBD – Bank of America Stadium
at carolina panthers

The second of a three-game stretch that should be favorable for the Falcons, which could help them reach the playoffs.

Record: 8-6

Week 16 – 12/24 – 1:00 PM EDT – Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Indianapolis Colts

Wash, rinse, play rebuild team, repeat. It could be as early as Christmas in the form of a playoff berth, depending on how the rest of the NFC looks by then.

Record: 9-6

Week 17 – 12/31 – 1:00 PM EDT – Soldier Field
in Chicago Bears

This could be an interesting matchup, potentially with both teams competing for a playoff spot. Or, both teams could look at their draft potential. A cold, possibly snowy, New Year’s Eve game in Chicago isn’t ideal, but at least the Falcons seem to be running the ball. Birds win.

Record: 10-6

Week 18 – TBD – Caesars Superdome
in new orleans saints

This is a potentially big Week 18 matchup. It could be for the NFC South division title, or at least, a wild card chance for the Falcons. However, I can’t see Baz getting upset in the Superdome.

Record: 10-7

The Falcons finish the season and make the playoffs for the first time since 2017 as a wild card, securing Arthur Smith’s job.
