Phillies Vs. Rocky’s Prediction, Pick, How To Watch

The Philadelphia Phillies take on the Colorado Rockies. Here’s our Phillies Rockies predictions and selections in our MLB odds series. Learn how to watch Phillies Rockies.

The Philadelphia Phillies, the defending National League champions, have had a bumpy ride through six weeks of baseball this season. They haven’t been a very good team, but as St. Louis Cardinals – more than 10 games under .500 – can tell you things could get much worse for the Phils. Philadelphia’s last 16 games have been a microcosm of the ballclub’s larger overall journey through the first 37 games of the season. The record isn’t great — 18-19 — but the Phillies aren’t buried in the points table either. They can certainly play their part in the wild card discussion. Over the past 16 games, the Phillies have won six of seven, then lost six in a row, then won three in a row. This team is building the parts of brutal baseball, but when it gets punched in the face, it finally puts together a winning streak. This team will eventually need to find stability as the season progresses, but some teams crumble in April and early May (Cardinals) and their ability to pursue a late playoff run is severely hampered. Turns out, the Phillies hit one. proper degree. They’re not in good shape, but they haven’t spiraled. Not at all, at least.

Why the Phillies Might Cover the Spread

The Phillies played four games against the Rockies earlier in the season. They won three of them, holding Colorado to three runs or fewer in each of those victories. It brings up a fundamental thing about the Rockies: They don’t score at a typical level. They certainly don’t score nearly as many runs as the best Colorado teams. Playing at Coors Field 81 times a year, the Rockies need an attack that maximizes their hitter-friendly park and minimizes the burden on their pitchers in order to be great. There is no such offense in Colorado this season. The Rockies’ bats are limited. There are many holes in this batting order. The Phillies need to be able to get the pitching going to stay one step ahead of the Rockies in Denver.

Why the Rockies Can Cover the Spread

The Rockies had lost three of the first four to the Phils this season, but they played only one bad ballgame in four. In three of the four games in Philadelphia last month, Colorado pitching performed really well against the Phillies, allowing eight total runs in three games. The Rockies won the shutout and then lost a pair of 4–3 games. He really incorporated the Philadelphia batting order and showed he could pitch consistently up and down their rotation. Colorado has gotten more good pitching out of its staff in recent weeks, including a series win over the Cleveland Guardians and a recent series win versus the Pirates in Pittsburgh. Colorado’s pitching is clearly better than it was a few weeks ago. This would help the Rockies stay close to the Phillies. If they lose by just one run, they cover the spread here.

Final Phillies-Rockies Predictions and Selections

Philadelphia is the better team, and the Phils are finally going to strike Colorado’s pitching. This is due to the crime breakout.
