Sky Mavis, the team behind the popular blockchain game Axi Infinity, revealed that four game studios will build and launch games on top of the Ronin Network, creating their own native gaming ecosystem.
In an announcement to Cointelegraph, Sky Mavis highlighted that they have partnered with four game studios: Directive Games, Tribes, Bali Games, and Bold.io. In addition, the team also announced a shift from the Ronin blockchain to a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism. Trung Nguyen, CEO and co-founder of Sky Mavis, explained that:
“With the upgrade to dPoS, we are ready to open up our infrastructure and technology to the wider Web3 world. We believe this is the path to making gaming that is community driven, more rewarding and most importantly, more fun.
Kathleen Osgood, head of business development at Sky Mavis, told Cointelegraph that her team reviewed 250 game studios they announced before deciding which. According to Osgood, they chose studios from various niches in the gaming space in order to achieve their goal of “involving as many people as possible in the ecosystem”.
