Vikings Top Draft Pick Reportedly in Some Trouble

Minnesota Vikings training camp begins Sunday, with rookies reporting to Egan and the veterans two days later.

But before the on-the-field dealings, an off-the-field matter surfaced on Thursday, as rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison was allegedly charged with reckless driving Wednesday night.

Two additional threads show vikings territory That Enright’s reporting is accurate.

The Vikings used the 23rd overall pick in April’s draft on Edison, and the 21-year-old is on deck to play a key role in the Vikings’ short- and long-term attacks. Adam Thielen left the club for the Carolina Panthers in March, and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah hired Addison as his eventual replacement.

The Vikings, as a franchise, were notorious for arresting players throughout the 2000s, but during the Mike Zimmer era, off-the-field distractions and violations declined sharply. Tomfoolery returned, at least for one day in July.

Addison was unable to participate in Vikings minicamp due to a minor injury, but is on deck for training camp later this week. It’s unclear whether the reckless driving violation changes that plan.

Addison and the Vikings made their contract official in May, signing a standard first-round-rookie deal for four years and $13.7 million with a team option for a fifth year in 2027. He plans to have a WR room in 2023 that includes Justin Jefferson, KJ Osborne, Jalen Naylor, Jalen Rigour, Brandon Powell and himself among others.

The young wideout totaled 3,134 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns over three seasons at USC and Pittsburgh. That guy has the resume of the field. He’s 5’11” and 170 pounds — not the biggest NFLer — but he sets goals and he should be duly received on Sunday in the Vikings’ pass-happy offense.

In May, Vikings offensive lineman Ollie Udoh was cited for the same violation. As per KSTP, traveling at 97 mph in a 55 MPH zone. udoh really had a blow Some Driving Violation in the same month.

Addison was the fourth wideout selected in the April draft, behind Jackson Smith-Njigba, Quentin Johnston and Zay Flowers.

There were virtually no character concerns on his scouting report coming out of college.
