why carl williams will win

In his last fight against Lukasz Brzeski, Williams showed that his wrestling skills are on a completely different level than most heavyweights in the division. He is relentless when seeking takedowns and does a great job using his size to unbalance opponents. Once he gets off, Williams is very good at maintaining top position and threatening with ground-and-pound. His first two opponents had no answer for his grappling, so it will be interesting to see if a fighter as experienced as Sherman can pick up the takedowns that come.

Williams comes into this contest as a heavy favorite due to her wrestling advantage. The main issue for Williams has been her cardio, but going all three rounds in her last fight will give her the confidence to go three more in this one. Making weight hasn’t been an issue for him, and he’s had time to improve his cardio ahead of this fight. If he can pull off a consistent takedown once again, he will easily win this fight.

why chase sherman will win

Chase Sherman was forced to pull out of this original card due to medical issues. He had more than a month to recover from his undisclosed ailment, which could be a sign that something serious happened during his previous weight cut. It will be very interesting to see how healthy he is, with Williams having his hands full. With 15 of 16 wins via knockout, Sherman has the power to turn off the lights in his hands. While he was a busy striker early in his career, Sherman has adjusted his game and now fights more methodically and patiently. If he can keep his boxing cool, he might get his chance as the big underdog.

To win this fight, Sherman will have to try and keep the fight standing as he wears Williams down with takedowns. Williams will almost certainly want Sherman on the mat for this one, so it will be imperative for him to get off the ground early. If he can show that takedowns have no effect on him, he may be able to overcome Williams with striking. Look for Sherman to do everything he can to prevent takedowns while keeping his output dangerous on his feet.

Final Carl Williams-Chase Sherman Predictions And Selections

The selection here would remain the same as this was the first time these two were set to fight – Carl Williams would get this win off the back of his dominant wrestling career. While Sherman has KO power, it is doubtful that he will be able to find the chin of the much larger Williams. Sherman also shows little ability in defensive wrestling, so Williams must string together his takedowns and win with ground-and-pound. Let’s take her to win here and add a fun little prop for some value.

Final Carl Williams-Chase Sherman Predictions and Selections: Carl Williams (-430); By KO/TKO in round 3 (+1200)
